Homicide Investigation Underway After Louisville Shooting Claims Life

The Louisville Metro Police Department is actively investigating a fatal shooting that left a 38-year-old man dead Thursday night in the California neighborhood of Louisville.

Officers responded just before 10 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the 1600 block of Garland Avenue. When they arrived, they located Jashaun Brown suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite emergency response efforts, Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his identity.

The LMPD Homicide Unit has taken the lead on the case and is working to determine what led up to the shooting. At this time, investigators have not announced any arrests or identified a suspect. Authorities have also not released details regarding a possible motive.
