Born on July 14, 1967, in Sylvester, Georgia, Proctor earned the nickname “The General” for his commanding presence on and off the field. At Murray State University, he was a four-year starting quarterback from 1986 to 1989, setting ten Ohio Valley Conference records and becoming the school’s all-time leader in passing yards and total offense. In honor of his achievements, his number 11 jersey was retired, a distinction held by only one other player in Murray State history.
After college, Proctor pursued a professional career that took him across multiple leagues and continents. Though undrafted by the NFL, he signed with the New England Patriots in 1990 and later played for the Montreal Machine (World League of American Football), Saskatchewan Roughriders (CFL), and Charlotte Rage (Arena Football League). His journey reflected his dedication, resilience, and passion for the game, proving that commitment and hard work can open doors anywhere.
