Houston Smoke Shop Owner Fernando Gallardo Killed in Alleged Robbery

The owner of Daze Elevated smoke shop on North Houston Rosslyn Road has been identified as Fernando Gallardo, who was shot and killed during what investigators believe was an attempted robbery.

According to court records, 21-year-old Adan Gracia is accused of fatally shooting Gallardo. Police say an employee became concerned after noticing the store’s open sign was still on after hours and Gallardo’s vehicle was missing. Upon checking inside, the employee discovered Gallardo deceased.

Authorities later located and stopped the victim’s vehicle. The driver, who reportedly matched surveillance images from the shop, was detained. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Friends and loved ones have flooded social media with tributes, remembering Gallardo as a kind, genuine, and loyal person. Many described him as a “real one” and a devoted friend who shared countless memories with those closest to him. One friend wrote that Gallardo was a “gentle soul” taken too soon, while others reflected on years of friendship dating back to their teenage years.

The community continues to mourn as detectives with the Houston Police Department pursue the case.
