In Loving Memory of Jose Antonio Bocanegra
SPARTANBURG, South Carolina — The Spartanburg community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Jose Antonio Bocanegra, 21, of Schooner Circle in Boiling Springs, who passed away early Sunday morning, February 15, 2026.
According to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office, Bocanegra was transported by personal vehicle to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased in the operating room shortly after 5:55 a.m. Medical staff notified authorities immediately following the incident.
A forensic examination is scheduled for February 16 as part of the ongoing investigation. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
