A man has died and a suspect is now in custody following a shooting at a gathering in the Needham community, east of Jonesboro, Arkansas.<\/p>\n
According to the Craighead County Sheriff\u2019s Office, deputies were called to 6888 Highway 18 East<\/strong> around 1:30 a.m. Sunday<\/strong> after reports of gunfire.<\/p>\n When officers arrived, they found a man identified as Courtney Mullins<\/strong> dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound. Authorities believe he was from Mississippi County.<\/p>\n During the investigation, deputies identified a suspect as Demetri Allen<\/strong>. He was later arrested on Monday during a traffic stop along Interstate 55 near the Mississippi-Crittenden County line.<\/p>\n Allen is currently being held in the Craighead County Detention Center and has been charged with first-degree murder<\/strong>. He is expected to appear in court later this week.<\/p>\n Officials say the shooting happened outside in a parking lot during a large gathering at the location.
