Michelle Carolina Cantos Dies in Snowmobile Accident in Maine
It is with deep sorrow that family and friends mourn the tragic passing of Michelle Carolina Cantos, 23, of New Hampshire, who died Friday, February 13, in a snowmobile accident in Jackman.
According to the Maine Warden Service, Michelle was riding fourth in a group of five family members and friends traveling north when she lost control of her Polaris snowmobile. Authorities responded to reports of a possible crash around 11:45 a.m. and located her at the scene, where she was pronounced dead.
Officials with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife indicated that inexperience may have been a contributing factor in the accident.
Michelle’s sudden passing has left her loved ones and community heartbroken.
