Victims Identified in Woodlake Double Homicide Investigation
The Moore County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two individuals killed in a double homicide on February 14, 2026, in the Woodlake community of Vass.
Authorities say 21-year-old Kateryna Tovmash of Vass and 28-year-old Matthew Wade of Hamilton, Mississippi, were found deceased inside a residence on Daphne Lane. Wade was stationed at Fort Bragg at the time of his death.
Deputies responded to the home around 7:45 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located both victims inside the residence.
Later that same day, Caleb Fosnaugh was taken into custody in Ohio after coordination between Moore County investigators and partner law enforcement agencies. Officials confirmed that Tovmash and Fosnaugh had previously been in a relationship in Ohio.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident. The Moore County Sheriff’s Office has asked the community to keep the victims’ families and loved ones in their thoughts during this difficult time.
