The search for Ashanti Allen, a 23-year-old woman who was eight months pregnant, has ended in tragedy after she was found dead days after being reported missing.
Allen was last seen on Friday leaving her home near McNee Road and Main Street in Houston. Authorities noted she was going through a high-risk pregnancy, which heightened concerns for her wellbeing when she disappeared.
On Thursday, police confirmed that a body had been discovered along Chimney Rock Road near Gasmer Drive. Family members later verified that the remains were those of Ashanti Allen.
