Teen Killed in Eisenhower Park Shooting Identified as One of the Shooters

Authorities have released new details following a deadly shooting at Eisenhower Park, where a 15-year-old boy who was killed has now been identified as one of the individuals involved in the gunfire.

The teen has been identified as Quacere “Chase” Hagans, a freshman at Longwood High School.

The shooting happened Wednesday night around 8:30 p.m. after police responded to multiple reports of shots fired during a gathering at the park. Investigators say an argument broke out among a group of people, which quickly escalated into gunfire.

Hagans was shot and taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Two other men, ages 28 and 31, were also shot and remain in critical condition.

In a significant development, police confirmed that Hagans was not only a victim but also one of the shooters involved in the incident. Authorities say he was in possession of a firearm at the time.

Several individuals have been taken into custody, and multiple weapons have been recovered. Police say they are still waiting on forensic results before filing additional charges.

A separate 17-year-old has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon, although investigators have not directly linked him to the shooting itself.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue working to determine exactly what led to the violence and who all was involved.

Family members described Hagans as a bright and funny teenager, remembering him as someone who brought joy to those around him.

More details are expected as authorities continue their investigation.
