Mayor Pleads for Answers After Teen Killed at Piedmont Park, $15,000 Reward Offered

Atlanta officials are asking for the public’s help after a deadly shooting at Piedmont Park left a teenage girl dead and another injured.

Authorities identified the victim as 16-year-old Tianah Robinson, a student at North Clayton High School. The shooting happened Saturday night around 9 p.m. near Lake Clara Meer inside Piedmont Park.

A second victim, 15-year-old Italia Wilson, was shot in the shoulder and is expected to recover.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens spoke out following the incident, urging anyone with information to come forward.

“I just want justice,” said Tianah’s father, Terrell Robinson.

Officials have announced a $15,000 reward through Crime Stoppers for information that leads to an arrest in the case.

Police say they believe four different shooters were involved, with gunfire reported across multiple areas of the park. Witnesses said they heard between 20 and 30 gunshots.

Investigators also said the victims were not believed to be targets and were not involved in any conflict leading up to the shooting. Both teenagers were reportedly at the park enjoying the day with family during 404 Day celebrations.

Authorities confirmed the shooting was not related to a “teen takeover” event.

At the time of the incident, there were security measures in place, including police officers, private security, and medics.

Police are now reviewing hundreds of hours of surveillance footage as they work to identify those responsible.

City officials noted that overall crime in Atlanta has decreased compared to previous years, but described the weekend’s violence as unusual.

An online fundraiser has been set up to support Tianah Robinson’s family as they deal with the loss.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are continuing to ask for help from the public.

More updates are expected as new information becomes available.
