Man Killed in Shooting Outside Family Dollar in Rome, Georgia

A late-night shooting in Rome has left one man dead, prompting an active investigation by local authorities.

According to the Rome Police Department, officers were dispatched around 12:42 a.m. to the Family Dollar located at 1417 N. Broad St. NE after multiple reports of gunfire were received through E-911.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Officials have not yet released the victim’s official identity. However, he is being referred to by those who knew him as Chance, also known as “TrenxhLiving.”

Detectives say evidence has been recovered from the scene, and multiple leads are currently being pursued. Authorities believe there were several people in the area at the time of the shooting and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident—or has photos or video—to come forward.

Police emphasize that someone in the community may have key information that could help identify the person responsible.
